darlington drinker.

Thank you for your enquiry in wishing to stock a locally brewed beer permanently.

The LocAle scheme was started by Nottingham CAMRA a few years ago to enable pubs the opportunity to support their local breweries within their branch area by stocking at least one of their beers on their bar permanently. Many licensees and pubs in Nottingham’s CAMRA branch area signed up to the scheme thus allowing regulars and visitors alike the chance to drink a local beer.

As a result, more CAMRA branches have started their own LocAle scheme and they define it depending on the number of breweries in or close to their branch area - distances are often 25 miles but can be 30 miles or even higher.

Darlington CAMRA has decided to take this opportunity to ask licensees in our branch area if they would like to be involved in such a scheme. Listed below are major towns in our branch area and the distances to breweries which would qualify if we started up a LocAle scheme.

Please note that all distances are approximate and were measured by travelling by road.
